CMAS Underwater Navigation Training Programme
Why Should you take this course?
Getting lost or disorientated on a dive can ruin your dive. Do you want to be able to find your way around underwater?
The CMAS underwater navigation course will teach you how to get where you want to go and how to get back.
What will you learn?
During this course you will learn about planning, preparation and techniques needed for underwater navigation activities.
You will learn about identifying possible problems and hazards associated with underwater navigation and about the correct use and care
for underwater navigation equipment.
During the practical session you will be required to carry out three dives where you will learn to be proficient in underwater navigation.
How do you get started?
To enrol on the CMAS Underwater Navigation Programme you must be at least 15 years old and be a certified CMAS One Star Diver (or equivalent). You must have at least 15 logged dives and a medical certificate that declares you medically fit to scuba dive by a certified physician that is not older than one year.
There are many CMAS Instructors throughout the whole of South Africa who would be thrilled to have you as a participant on an Underwater Navigation Diver Training Programme.

What are the next steps?
As a certified CMAS Underwater Navigation Diver you will have sufficient knowledge, skill and experience effectively navigate underwater using a natural and compass navigation.
